What do Bible and money have in common?
How are your finances related to the Bible?
I believe that God has plans and intentions for me that will be for my good and for His glory. Therefore I want to manage well the money that God has entrusted me and live as a financial disciple.
The financial discipleship is a journey – it is important to know what stage of this journey I find myself in…
I am surprised to read that the Bible gives so much attention and importance to the issue of money and financial decisions and that Jesus said, ‘you cannot serve both God and money.’
So I want to discover more about WHAT and WHY a Christian should know about biblical principles for making financial decisions, so that I can serve God better.
I understand why God wants us to navigate our finances God’s way and why this will benefit me both financially and spiritually. So I want to look into what specific advice God’s Word gives in financial matters. I would like to know what the Bible teaches when it comes to spending and debt, saving and investing, giving and work, business and lifestyle. I need that knowledge right now!
I have studied and understand what the Bible says about money and financial decisions. Now, I think it is time to put my knowledge into practice and make biblical principles a part of my lifestyle, developing Godly financial habits. I want to become a financial disciple of Jesus Christ and become financially free to serve Him.
I am living by Biblical principles when making financial decisions at home, at work, in business and at church.
And I am willing to share this with others so that they, like me, can become free from financial burdens, such as debt, worries and greed, and then become free to… serve Jesus Christ fully, growing into financial disciples.
Start the journey!
Who is a financial disciple of Jesus Christ? What is his role and calling? What are his values and goals at each stage of this journey? How does this apply to my financial situation and my Christian position?
What the Bible says…
God talks about money nearly 2,350 times in the Bible, which is more than double He talks about faith and love combined! So, it is extremely important in God’s eyes.
Jesus talked a lot about money while on earth – 15% of everything He said (including over 40% of His parables), related to finances. After the Kingdom and God, money was the most talked about topic by Jesus in the Gospel.
